Creating souvenirs from Great North Run data to make and share personal moments and stories of achievement
This public souvenir making activity was part of the Great North Greats exhibition at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle.
With the running chip data being recorded and stored over the past several years, anyone who has taken part in a Great North Run in the past or is taking part in the run this year can sign up to one of the sessions to create their unique souvenir. In these half-an-hour sessions, led by product designer and Newcastle University PhD researcher Bettina Nissen, you will be able to digitally create and 3D print your personalized souvenir. Bettina will not only help you generate your unique shapes, but will also take you through the whole 3D printing process and answer any questions you may have about the making process from your run data through to digital shape generation and fabrication technology.
